DIY: For the Bedroom

I stumbled upon the blog, A Pair & A Spare DIY, and this girl has some serious skills when it comes to making your own stuff. If you are like me, you have all of these ideas about how you want your space to look but you have no money, so you just make like a million pinterest boards. I just hold on to the thought that hopefully, one day, all of those boards will manifest once I have some finances to spend. Until then, I think we should all look for affordable options and ways to opt out of spending. (This actually goes for anybody). Here are two things you can make from salvaged wood with only a few tools. You can hopefully borrow these tools and then the whole operation may cost you nothing! Good luck and please let me know if you find more DIY ideas.

Blue Café

The Blue Café- where you can get a babyccino for you little one (frothed milk with chocolate shavings) and sit in the sun on a quiet tamboerskloof street. This little café is a real treat. When mama and josh were here, we went for breakfast and it did not disappoint. I experienced my first turmeric latte, which was divine. They have these sweet plates that are made to look like a note was written on them in crayon. Does anyone know how to do that in the ceramic making world? Anyway, stop on your next walk with your pup and grab a treaty. And if you haven't taken a walk in this neighborhood, do so. The old houses are gorgeous, its quiet, and the roads just keep weaving up and up.

Yotes by Green Kitchen Stories

This recipe is healthy and most importantly, easy to make. Creatively combining yogurt and oats, Green Kitchen Stories has done it again with a fun breakfast idea that can be jarred and eaten outside. The blog is written by Luise and David, who have gone on to publish a few books. They travel, landing in Air BnBs for months at a time, creating new content all the time. Follow them on Instagram for inspiration!

 Enjoy! Xx

Wendy Rowe.

Every now and then, I stumbled across someone that makes my heart sing. Today, it was Wendy Rowe, a makeup artist to all the Brits you love- Kate Moss, Cara, Victoria Beckham, Sienna Miller. I saw in one of her pictures on ITG, she had the book My New Roots by Sarah Britton, who is my all time favorite food blogger. From there, I knew we shared the same beliefs on health and beauty. She has an approach that starts from the inside out. She is all about health and exercise first to make the skin radiant. Below is a cool video of her showing how to create 'sunken cheeks' (similar contour effect) and a few photos from her home and book. I will be ordering it soon!
